These built in knee pads attach to the chassis with 3M dual lock to give you a comfortable place to rest your knees in high G corners.  By using impact absorbing foam, these will also protect your knees in the event of a collision by decelerating your knee over time vs the hard shock of hitting the metal frame.  The base structure is acrylonitrile styrene acrylate.
